Welcome to my Personal Website!

Thank you all so much for coming to my new website, I am so excited about this and all the projects I am currently involved in! I figured I needed some kind of practical medium to express all that is going on so that everyone is in the know by choice. I know I am definitely a Facebook addict and I am hoping this will become a more creative, intentional, and unique way to provide updates to those who are interested. Additionally, my hope is that this website can be a resource for personal marketing regarding my degree and experience whilst also crossing over into more personal projects. This leads me into talking about the next few items which some of you may have seen throughout the website so far! Firstly, my trip to Sierra Leone, which is coming up very quickly. For those of you who don't know, I will be travelling to Sierra Leone, West Africa for 2.5 months to work under the NGO (non-governmental organization) "Freedom Tree". They are involved in some amazing initiatives in the country and this will be their first long-term trip. Our mandate for the trip is to create a pre and post-natal curriculum for the country's villages in the hopes of changing the currently horrific statistics. Sierra Leone is among the worst countries in the world for infant and maternal mortality. The story as to how I got involved in all of this and how this all works is something I will definitely be sharing more about, but for now, check out the video I've posted below and head to www.freedomtree.ca to read more about the organization. I am so proud to be a committed member of this movement! You can sign up on the website for email updates, some of which I will be writing from the website, so definitely get on that!

Secondly, you may have seen for the first time upon coming to this site that I am currently in the process of having an Extended Play (EP) released! That's right! Many of you know that I am a songwriter and have written music for a number of years now, but I am finally getting some of my work produced professionally! The current status of the project is in pre-production, recording will be happening later this summer and it should be set to release on iTunes and other mediums by late 2016/early 2017! So updates for that project will definitely be on here as well. There is some more information on my "Current Projects" page if you are interested in more details. I am so thankful for everyone's support! Finally, some very exciting and not so personal news, but I am officially graduating next year! I am truly so excited to be finishing up my degree and am so thankful for all the incredible experiences it has brought me throughout the course of the last few years. It is with deep gratitude that I look back on my experience thus far - having received such insightful and practical experience throughout my time at university. It has been astronomical in terms of networking, travel, inspiration, and self-improvement. I would definitely recommend seeing how you can get the most out of your degree - or whatever situation you are in - you will NOT regret it! I will be writing more about this in a future post. But for now, feel free to check out a bit of my Gallery (currently my instagram as the real page is under construction) which features some shots from my favourite chapter of my degree so far: Study Abroad in Europe! Last year, I lived and studied in Paris, France and it was unforgettable and life-changing. I got to visit a ton of great places, meet amazing people, and fulfill a lot of my bucket list a lot sooner than I ever thought possible. I even got to go to Russia! I'll probably be referencing this time in my life a lot, so definitely get involved by checking out my gallery and following me on Instagram @manyseas, which I update frequently. Thank you so much to everyone stopping by! I look forward to having you all along for the ride. - j o s i a h
